How Utah Valley Laptops collects, uses, shares, and protects information handled through this website and connected marketplace tools.
Last updated: August 27, 2026
Overview
Utah Valley Laptops operates a local refurbished-laptop storefront and the administrative systems used to manage inventory, reservations, sales, and marketplace integrations. This policy explains the information handled through those services and how it is used.
The website does not process card payments and does not store customer card or bank-account credentials.
Information we collect
- Reservation and transaction information. This can include your name, phone number, email address, preferred pickup time, payment preference, intended-use or pickup notes, reservation identifiers, and sale or return records.
- Referral and usage information. We may receive campaign, referral, and UTM parameters, plus ordinary request, security, diagnostic, and analytics information generated when the site is used.
- Administrative account information. Authorized operators may use account, authentication, session, and access-control information to sign in to private administrative tools.
- eBay seller information. If an eBay seller account is connected, the application receives OAuth authorization information and may access data permitted by the authorized eBay seller scopes for inventory, account policies, and fulfillment operations.
Storefront analytics and browser signals
The public storefront uses Vercel Web Analytics and a first-party storefront event tracker to understand catalog, offer, reservation, and referral activity. The first-party tracker creates a random session identifier in browser session storage and may record the current path, offer identifiers, campaign or referral codes, UTM parameters, and the storefront surface where an event occurred.
The session identifier is scoped to the browser session. The storefront does not use this tracker for cross-site advertising or to sell personal information. Current storefront code does not change this analytics behavior in response to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. We will update this notice if that behavior changes.
How we use information
- Provide and manage laptop reservations, pickup, sales, returns, and support.
- Communicate about a reservation, pickup appointment, or transaction.
- Maintain accurate inventory, listing, financial, and operational records.
- Protect the website, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability.
- Perform eBay marketplace actions that an authorized seller has requested or enabled through the application.
- Meet applicable legal, tax, recordkeeping, security, and marketplace obligations.
eBay data and authorization
eBay information is used only to provide the connected marketplace functionality authorized by the eBay account holder. We do not use eBay member information for unrelated advertising, data brokerage, or unrelated profiling.
OAuth credentials and refresh tokens are kept server-side and are not exposed in the public storefront. An eBay account holder can revoke application access from eBay's third-party application access settings. Revocation prevents new access once eBay invalidates the authorization.
When eBay sends an applicable marketplace account deletion or closure notice, we process that notice and delete, anonymize, or otherwise stop using affected eBay account data as required, except information that must be retained for legal, security, tax, dispute, or transaction-record purposes.
How information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared only as needed with service providers that operate the website and its business systems, including hosting, database, authentication, anti-abuse, analytics, email-delivery, and marketplace providers, or when disclosure is required by law.
Current infrastructure may include Vercel, Render, Supabase, Cloudflare Turnstile, and eBay. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices when they provide their services.
Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for reservations, sales, warranties or exchanges, accounting and tax records, marketplace operations, dispute handling, security, and legal obligations. Information may be deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed. If an applicable law or eBay requirement requires earlier deletion, that requirement controls.
Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to limit unauthorized access to customer, administrator, marketplace, and financial information. Private credentials and marketplace tokens are kept out of public website responses. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and requests
You may ask to correct or delete personal information where applicable. If you have an active reservation or completed transaction, use the contact channel in your confirmation or transaction communication so the correct record can be identified. You may also review the current seller contact guidance on the About page.
eBay account holders may separately revoke this application's eBay access from their eBay account settings.
Children's privacy
This storefront is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 was submitted without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the website, marketplace integrations, or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest revision.
Store policies for reservations, pickup, condition, warranty, and shipping are available on the Policies page.
